Our teachers know their students and work with them to help them realise their potential as learners. Our focus on authentic learning and authentic assessment ensures that we challenge our students to grow in their learning and achieve their personal best.
Throughout our community of Sydney Catholic schools, we have shown high performance of our students in measures such as NAPLAN and the HSC.
At Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School Caringbah, assessment is integral to the teaching and learning cycle and focuses on knowing and empowering the learner. Regular valid and reliable assessments including formative and summative assessments and standardised testing are used to inform teaching and differentiate learning to support a range of student learning styles. All assessment incorporates timely, effective and appropriate feedback.
Teachers use a variety of assessments – such as NAPLAN, Progressive Achievement Tests (PAT), Year 6 Religious Education Test and classroom-based assessments to measure and regularly monitor the growth of students’ learning across curriculum areas. High student achievement occurs in a range of competitions including Maths Olympiad and the Write On competition.
At Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Primary School Caringbah, students have the opportunity to demonstrate their athletic skills and talents representing the school at NSW and regional events. These events include a number of different sports: Soccer, Touch Football, Rugby, Swimming, Netball, Cricket and Basketball.
